![]() Jedi are known to basically drop small comets on a whim, and having a max limit of 200lbs seems super weak as a result. Lastly, force push, and pull feel incredibly underpowered when compared to the telekinesis spell. Maybe, have the class start with a training saber, or mundane equivalent, then by level three, require a ritual to put together their saber that is magical from the outset, before eventually upgrading to a +1 - +3 over time. Having a lightsaber right out the gate, that is functionally no different than a standard sword, kills the fun for me. Secondly, lightsabers in general, are known to cut through anything. This also opens up a level 1 dip into fighter for great weapon fighter + great weapon master feat and it feels silly considering that two bladed weapon really is an axe now. To my knowledge, there are no heavy, two handed, finesse weapons, and making it a single d12 kinda makes it feel like a re-skinned greataxe that goes against the overall theme. For example, the double bladed lightsaber, imo, should require TWF, no questions asked. Definitely has the feel down, though I feel a few things are either underpowered, or overpowered. I kinda wanna playtest it myself just to see how the two paths stack up against each other mechanically and math-wise, but not til after the light path gets its 14th & 18th level abilities. All in all, I think it's definitely on the right track. I'm assuming you intended to add a 14th & 18th level ability later as well. The level 6 light ability requires an hour meditation to get a damage boost, whereas the dark path just requires a minor hit to HP, with no cooldown. When viewed side by side they should have something that makes them unique but comparable. That aside, the light and dark paths should be somewhat equal in power. ![]() I could ALMOST give it a pass at 1/10th health at a much higher force cost, but that's a big if. Is it cool? Yeah, you just rekt an Ancient Red! But is it crazy OP? Absolutely As a DM, I couldn't ever allow that as a mechanic. So imagine an ancient red dragon at just under 270 hp, then bam! Dead. At half health, you could basically spam the bbeg 4 times with it having disadvantage from a party member and kill him outright. ![]() I think that should remain a flavor thing tbh.
